«El gen UTX actúa como un regulador epigenético para impulsar la función antiviral de las células NK», continúa Su, » y resulta que las mujeres tienen más copias del gen UTX en sus células NK que los hombres, lo que les permite combatir las infecciones virales de manera más eficiente. Esto implica a UTX como un determinante molecular crítico de las diferencias sexuales en las células NK», es decir, mientras que los hombres poseen más células NK que las mujeres, la actividad de gen UTX, responsable de la respuesta inmunológica ante una infección vírica, propicia que las mujeres puedan hacer frente a estas con mayor eficiencia.
Los hallazgos sugieren que en el futuro, las terapias que impliquen respuestas inmunitarias deben evolucionar hacia un modelo de medicina de precisión más adaptada a los factores individuales de las personas, ya se trate de su genética, de diferentes factores de riesgo o ambientales. Así lo afirma al menos el coautor principal del estudio, Tim O’Sullivan, profesor asistente de microbiología, inmunología y genética molecular, quien concluye afirmando que «tendremos que incorporar el sexo como un factor biológico en las decisiones de tratamiento y el diseño de la inmunoterapia».

“Actuó en legítima defensa”: Fiscalía de Edomex desiste de acción penal contra Roxana Ruiz, la joven que mató a su violador
Tras un análisis del caso de Roxana Ruiz, la joven que asesinó a su violador en defensa propia, la fiscalía del Estado de México informó esta tarde que queda exenta de la responsabilidad penal.
El Fiscal General de Justicia del Estado de México, José Luis Cervantes Martínez ordenó desestimar del ejercicio de la acción penal en contra de Roxana Ruiz Santiago. Es decir, retiró la acusación por el homicidio en contra de su presunto agresor.
La institución informó que en concordancia a lo dispuesto por el Artículo 144 del Código Nacional de Procedimientos Penales y por lo que solicitó audiencia para que el Juez correspondiente resuelva lo conducente.

Luego de conocerse la sentencia de condena emitida el 15 de mayo por el Tribunal de Enjuciamiento del Distrito Judicial de Nezahualcóyotl, en contra de Roxana Ruiz Santiago, considerada responsable del delito de homicidio y por la que se le impuso una pena privativa de libertad de 6 años 2 meses, colectivas feministas y familiares organizaron una protesta en contra de la notificación.
Ante las quejas por familiares y colectivas feministas sobre la injusticia en el caso de Roxana, el presidente Andrés Manuel López Obrador anunció en su conferencia de prensa matutina que buscaría dar un «indulto» a la joven, por lo que ella expresó en una protesta que no lo aceptaría, pues sería reconocer la culpa de un delito que no cometió, caso por el que además nunca se le consideró como víctima.
El Fiscal General de Justicia del Estado de México, instruyó a la Fiscalía Central para la Atención de los delitos Vinculados a la Violencia de Género, atraer el caso, para su subsecuente análisis bajo los parámetros metodológicos que deben tomarse en cuenta cuando se encuentran involucrados sujetos de grupos vulnerables.

La Fiscalía General de Justicia concluyó que actuó en legítima defensa, circunstancia que constituye una causal de sobreseimiento tal y como lo dispone el Artículo 327 fracción IV del Código Nacional de Procedimientos Penales.
Roxana Ruíz es una mujer originaria de Oxaca, que un asalto sexual cambió su vida por completó. En el moento ella actuó en legítima defensa y denunció que al dar a conocer el caso no se le realizaron las pruebas pertinentes para comprobar la agresión sexual.
Tras la determinación del juzgado del Estado de México a la joven se le impuso una pena por el delito de homicidio. Roxana Ruíz tenía prohibido salir del Estado de México y Ciudad de México y debía llevar su proceso en libertad acudiendo periódicamente al Centro Estatal de Medidas Cautelares.

«Me estoy enterando por los medios de comunicación, estoy nerviosa no sé de qué va porque no lo han formalizado, se podría decir que no es nada oficial porque no nos han notificado», respondió Roxana Ruiz a EL UNIVERSAL luego de que la fiscalía del Estado de México emitió un comunicado informado sobre el que desistirá de la acción penal contra la joven, aceptando que ella actuó en legítima defensa.
En tanto, el abogado de Roxana, Ángel Carrera explicó que si procede el desistimiento «nada mas que nos estamos enterando por los medios de comunicación y necesitamos confirmar la noticia. Roxana está muy contenta, es un reconocimiento a su lucha y a su inocencia. Se tendría que presentar ante la autoridad para que esa noticia que se da por medio de un comunicado quede firme».
Sin embargo, aseguró que continúa la denuncia «para que se castigue a los servidores públicos».
